Boks going to need a bigger trophy cabinet...

NOW that they have won every precious piece of metal the game has to offer, the Springboks may be forced into coughing up a penalty for all that success. The trophy cabinet housed at their headquarters in Cape Town must be in dire need of major reconstruction.

It’s not simply a matter of finding a little elbow room for The Webb Ellis pot of gold as world champions and the hefty Rugby Championship Cup, a shining symbol of their supremacy south of the equator, but all the other bits and pieces garnered from a triumphant year.

Room has to be found for the Prince William Cup alongside the Mandela Challenge Plate, secured in the thrashing of Australia, and the Freedom Cup. Back in Die Bokke’s possession thanks to home-and-away wins over New Zealand, it has to find room among all the paraphernalia from the 2021 series win over the Lions.
