Right wing Llien Morgan ran in a hat-trick with left wing Ilan Phillips, No.8 Nathan Hart and a penalty try also on the scoresheet for the Drovers who recovered from 33-12 down. Jack Maynard kicked four conversions.

It also secured a 10th win on the bounce for Euros Evans’ side.

Centre Jason Harries scored twice for the visitors who also had Kenyan international Edmund Anya, flanker Nathan Hudd and scrum-half Joe Williams among their try scorers. Fraser Jones converted four of them.

RGC opened their cup campaign in style as they came from behind to defeat Aberavon 54-42 in a thrilling Pool A clash at Parc Eirias.

The visitors were first on the scoreboard when Ed Dunford kicked a penalty and then Felix Gilbert’s run set up skipper Joe Gage to score a try, which Dunford improved, to put them 10-0 to the good.

RGC hit back through flanker Dan Owen’s try, converted by Billy McBryde, but straight from the restart Aberavon scored again through scrum-half Josh Thomas after the hosts had failed to get hold of the ball, although the try was unconverted.
