When I first saw the concept art for this character, I simply fell in love with it and decided to develop it from a 2D design into 3D artwork, so that artists from the CG community could see her too. The original concept is from Lera Kiryakova, a professional concept artist, and I'd like to thank her for creating it.
I knew that if we built this model, a lot of people would be interested in the character, so I came up with a name and backstory for the audience to develop more of a connection.
Our character is called Lera Rajobov. She is a British aristocrat and long-time mistress of King Edward VII, and grew up at Duntreath Castle in Scotland.
To set this project in motion I gathered a group of professional artists, and we got to work on bringing her to life. In this workshop, I'll guide you through our production process for creating the character.
01 CHARACTER MODELLING
Mohamad Moradiyani created the character’s initial 3D model. He faced some challenges in the process, particularly with her anatomy as we didn’t have the correct references and were making a 3D model from a 2D picture. We searched and were able to collect references from Pinterest and Disney characters. The model has a deformed anatomy and Mohamad had to use the new Sculptris Pro mode in ZBrush to create the basic model. The first thing he did was deep dive into the model and after correcting the anatomy, the rest of the body was made.

HOW DO I MASTER MATERIALS IN KEYSHOT?
One of the best things about KeyShot is its ability to create and render realistic materials. When paired with beautiful lighting, product visualisations take on a whole new level of believability. When it comes to materials, KeyShot isn’t quite as advanced as some other rendering packages, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still able to create some killer materials.
