One of the brightest budding stars on the cricket horizon, Shubman Gill, has it all. Be it good looks or excellent batting skills. Born in a cricket-loving family, Gill is indeed devoted to the sport. Undoubtedly, this rising star is here to leave his mark on the grounds of Indian cricket with his impeccable zeal for cricket and unperturbed focus on the pitch.

Born on September 8, 1999 in a typical Punjabi household that belonged to Keart Gill and Lakhwinder Singh in Fazilka, Punjab, little Shubman would not ask for toys but a bat and a ball. Gill's love for the sport was nurtured by his agriculturist father, who is a great fan of cricket himself and wanted to make it big as a cricketer. Lack of resources wouldn't have fate in his favour and he recognised his son Shubman's talent early to chase the dream. He would ask the workers on his farm to throw balls at Gill to help him practice batting. Leaving no stone unturned, he also created a cricket ground on the family's farm. Later, the family moved to Mohali near PCA Stadium to make Gill a professional cricketer.

In his father's words, "He only played cricket since he was three-years-old. Kids of that age would play with toys. He never asked for such things. It was only bat and ball for him. He used to sleep with a bat and ball." The eight-year-old cricket frenzy boy would wake up at 3:30 AM to prepare for two hours of practice, only to finish school and return for batting and bowling.
