American Adventure

Yellowstone National Park stretches all the way from Wyoming into Montana and Idaho, covering 3,468 square miles. Mountains, canyons and springs can be found on this vast land so there is plenty to keep you occupied.

One of the most wonderful sights in Yellowstone has to be the Grand Prismatic Spring. You are greeted by vibrant colours which are due to microbial mats around the edges of the water. Yellows, greens, blues and oranges light up the landscape, with the spring being 370ft in diameter and 160ft deep.

Similarly, Fairy Falls is another tourist hotspot. If you fancy a hike, take the Fairy Falls trail to see mesmerising views of the waterfall as well as the Grand Prismatic Spring. Luckily, these two landmarks are close together so we don’t have to venture far for our next wonder!

Flora

Yellowstone has an abundance of glorious flora, with thousands of species of plants and trees. Engelmann spruce and Lodgepole pine are the most common trees found in Yellowstone, alongside plants like monkeyflower, cow parsnip and prairie smoke. The park is also home to a number of rare plant species like the Yellowstone sand verbena and Yellowstone sulphur flower. The best time to see these flowers in bloom is between May and September before autumn arrives and the bright colours of Yellowstone fade into gorgeous reds and oranges.
