When offering a home to an animal isn't an option, how can you support the work of your local rescue centre?

Hands on Help

Much of the work of running a rescue centre is a hands-on affair - and the more hands available, the better!

There are plenty of daily practical duties, such as dog walking, cleaning or tidying the pens and cages, meeting the additional care needs of poorly or vulnerable animals, helping to deliver appropriate meals to the variety of different "clients", helping with basic dog training, animal socialising or assisting with their rehabilitation. You may also be able to help with driving duties, perhaps going off site to the point of rescue, delivering the lucky animals that find a new home or collecting donations or supplies.

As volunteers deliver all the above, they will also be helping to fill the void of affection and attention the animals are living without in the absence of a permanent home.
