Prince Harry says Spare is his chance to speak his truth, in his own words. And he’s used those words to drop plenty of bombshells. Here are some of them:
1 Harry was physically attacked by his brother William during a 2019 argument about Meghan, who William called “difficult, rude and abrasive”. During the confrontation in the kitchen at Harry’s Nottingham Cottage home, William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace and knocked me to the floor,” writes Harry. He fell on a dog’s bowl, which broke and cut his back. Harry says William wanted him to fight back, but he refused.
2 Camilla has leaked stories to the press. Harry accuses his stepmother of telling journalists about private conversations and events, including a hunting trip he went on to Germany. He says some royals regularly plant negative stories about other family members in the media to make themselves look better. “Those certain members have decided to get in bed with the devil to rehabilitate their image.”
3 His sister-in-law Catherine, Princess of Wales, took offence when Meghan suggested she had “baby brain” caused by hormones following the birth of Prince Louis in April 2019. Kate demanded an apology and told Meghan, “We are not close enough for you to talk about my hormones.” Harry says Kate was so upset during the row that she gripped her chair until her fingers turned white.
