DIET FIT FOR A BUSY ROYAL! HER MAJESTY'S MENU

Diet played a large part in the Queen’s longevity – as did a good deal of exercise. As she became older and less active, she consumed fewer calories to control her weight and ensure less pressure on her joints.
There were a few golden rules – no garlic or onion, to prevent wind or bad breath, and very few white carbs, such as potatoes or rice.
When she was woken, regardless of where she was, she was presented with a pot of Earl Grey tea and one or two biscuits. Breakfast was always the same: cereal from a Tupperware container (Special K was a favourite) or porridge, with fruit on top, followed by toast with Wilkin & Sons preserves.
In Scotland on a non working day, she occasionally enjoyed scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and truffles (if she had been given them). The eggs were always brown – she thought them more flavoursome.
