As one of the stand-out stars of the acclaimed new movie Oppenheimer, Emily Blunt has been dazzling fans on the red carpet recently.
But behind the scenes, the British actress has confirmed she’s taking a break from the limelight for a year to concentrate on her other job – motherhood.
“I never feel like I’m doing it right, you know?” confides the Mary Poppins Returns star, who shares daughters Hazel, nine, and Violet, seven, with her actor husband John Krasinski, 43.
“This year, I’m not working. I worked quite a bit last year and my oldest baby is nine, so we’re in the last year of single digits. And I just feel there are cornerstones to their day that are important when they’re little.”
London born-and-bred Emily, who jokingly refers to her family as “The Krunts”, calls New York home these days. And home is where she intends to stay for the foreseeable future – something Hazel and Violet are all onboard with!
“It’s, ‘Will you wake me up? Will you take me to school? Will you pick me up? Will you put me to bed?’” she laughs. “I just need to be there for them for a good stretch. I just feel that in my bones.”
Life for Emily has certainly been a whirlwind of acting projects of late.
