The other Olsen! ELIZABETH'S TIME TO SHINE

For the past decade, Elizabeth Olsen has burnished her acting credentials as a Marvel superhero – but right now, she’s grabbing attention as an axe-wielding Texan housewife!

“People were so shocked to hear something like this happened,” says Elizabeth, 34, of true-crime miniseries Love & Death, currently screening on Neon.

The show tells the true story of people-pleasing mum-of-two Candy Montgomery, who popped in to see her church friend Betty one day in 1980… and killed her.

Elizabeth says she dug deep to find the relatable aspects of Candy, who a jury eventually decided was not guilty because she’d acted in self-defence.

As the younger sister of Hollywood’s famous twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Elizabeth was introduced to the world of acting at a young age, when the twins were still starring in the hit sitcom Full House. At just five, she appeared in their 1994 TV movie How the West Was Fun.

Not that having successful older (by two years) siblings meant Elizabeth was instantly sold on the idea of living her life in front of the cameras.

“What I saw my sisters do was work, not play,” she says. And when she was still at primary school, her dad urged her to think hard before she dived into the Hollywood fray.
