It’s been one of the messiest splits in Hollywood history – which is saying a lot – but Ioan Gruffudd and Alice Evans are finally legally divorced, two years after separating.
But while for most couples, this would signal the end of the road, that doesn’t seem to be the case for actors Alice, 55, and Ioan, 49, who first met on the set of Disney’s 102 Dalmatians back in 2000.
The pair are still embroiled in legal battles over finances and custody of their two daughters, Ella, 13, and Elsie, nine, but Ioan filed for bifurcation and termination of marital status in May, which would allow them to be declared legally divorced even as they continue settlement negotiations. This was granted last month, with a judge ruling, ‘The Court finds irreconcilable differences have arisen in the marriage and grants judgement for the dissolution of marriage as to status only.’
So just where did it all go wrong for this once loved-up couple?
