With summer holidays around the corner, you may be thinking about how to entertain the kids without breaking the bank. Parents spend hundreds, if not thousands of pounds on keeping the kids busy when school is out, but with most of us tightening our belts this year, we’ll be looking at ways to keep costs low.
Cheap cinema tickets
Everyone loves a good movie on the big screen, but a family trip to the cinema can set you back around £40 for a family of four – and much more if you’re buying snacks.
But you can instead grab tickets for as little as £2.50 on weekend mornings and during school holidays.
Vue cinemas runs Mini Mornings, with tickets for both children and adults from £2.49 when booked online or £3.49 at the box office. The scheme operates on weekends after 10am and every morning of the school holidays.
Cineworld has Movies for Juniors sessions at around 10am with tickets from £2.50.
