Ruth Langsford
Last month, fans were shocked when it was announced that TV golden couple Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes were going their separate ways after 27 years together and 14 years of marriage. At the time Woman’s Own went to print, Ruth, 64, had remained silent on the split and taken a break from Loose Women, while Eamonn thanked fans for their messages of kindness live on his GB News breakfast show. ‘I would just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation,’ he said. ‘Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.’
It’s believed that the pair, who share son Jack, 22, drifted apart after their work commitments ‘took them in different directions’. They hosted This Morning together for 15 years before they were axed from the show in 2020, and while Ruth remains a regular on Loose Women, Eamonn cut ties with ITV completely. One source said, ‘Eamonn and Ruth’s relationship changed when they left This Morning.
They started moving in different directions in their careers and their priorities started to change.’ They went on to say, ‘As her ITV career continued, Eamonn went down another path and they became ships in the night.’
