When Neysa King turned her back on her nursing career three decades ago, she never expected to be donning her scrubs again at 70.
But she now has a spring in her step after spending the past year working as a new graduate nurse at Alice Springs Hospital.
"I just love spending time with the patients and making people feel safe," Neysa tells Woman's Day.
Neysa worked as a nurse in the 1970s and '80s but spent most of her life working in the corporate world, where she met her beloved husband Tony. She was heartbroken when Tony died, aged just 69, after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in his early 50s. Then Neysa had a shock cancer diagnosis, which forced her into early retirement at the age of 64.
