As a celebrated “Norland Nanny”, providing childcare to royalty, the rich and the famous, Sally Arnold could expect her job prospects to be exciting. But not even she was prepared for her first posting to be with one of the most recognisable rock stars of all time.
After a chance meeting in Paris, Sally was hired in 1971 to look after Jade, daughter of Rolling Stone Mick Jagger and his then-wife Bianca. their turbulent marriage would end in divorce but the pair were madly in love at the beginning.
“It was rather lovely seeing them together in those early days,” Sally tells Woman’s Day. “In the happy times they were a lovely couple, cooing over each other and being very tactile and loving.” tactile and loving.”
JETSETTING LIFE
While the lifestyle was chaotic, as the family and their entourage jetted from France to LA with Sally and tiny Jade in tow, there were moments of normality, such as cooking a traditional Christmas lunch with Mick at their Bel Air home.
