Seven’s ultimate gamble in June this year to match up veteran news queen Natalie Barr, 55, with audience golden boy Matt Shirvington, 45, was, according to a well-placed insider, “a stroke of genius”.
RISKY BUSINESS
Interestingly, Woman’s Day’s Seven insider reveals there “were plenty of doubters when David Koch left Sunrise with many wondering if anyone could fill his big shoes”. “Shirvo was a risk at first, but he sure has paid off!” the source adds.
Despite Today scoring a few wins in the metro market, the victor’s trophy is over at Sunrise, prompting many TV insiders to wonder if Nine have got their line-up with Karl and Sarah Abo seriously wrong.
