 A slimmed-down Firm has long been on the cards. Here, we unpack the line-up

In the past year, the new King has made no secret of the fact that he believes less members of his family should be publicly funded working royals. Now, top insiders tell Woman's Day Charles is working hard to ensure his new-look Firm will reflect a modern society. "We will likely see a lot of fringe relatives being moved out of royal properties," explains a source. "More urgently however, we will see only core royals undertaking official duties."

King Charles III wasted no time in making his eldest son William, 40, the Prince of Wales. He also succeeds his father as the Duke of Cornwall and takes on the responsibilities for the Duchy of Cornwall. "Today, I am proud to create him Prince of Wales, Tywysog Cymru," said the King, who previously held the title. "With Catherine beside him, our new Prince and Princess of Wales will, I know, continue to inspire and lead our national conversations, helping to bring the marginal to the centre ground and where vital help can be given."

PRINCE ANDREW & SARAH FERGUSON

With the death of the Queen, the Duke of York's exile from the working monarchy looks certain to be permanent. Charles already sent Prince Andrew, 62, to the chopping block earlier this year, after his brother's disastrous BBC interview in which he publicly defended his friendship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. It's understood the Queen fired Andrew from public duties under pressure from Charles, who refused to stand by his embattled brother. Our insiders reveal Andrew "fully expects" his sibling will remove him out of the Royal Lodge at Windsor, the home he shares with 62-year-old ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York.
