When Tamara DiMattina needs new boots, a fridge or even a pack of undies, going to the mall is not her first point of call. In fact, she actively avoids it because she has a better way of buying – and it’s saving her thousands of dollars!
“I haven’t bought anything new for years,” the thrifty 47-year-old from Melbourne tells Woman’s Day. “It’s not that I don’t buy things. I love stuff, but if I need something, I go to op shops, a market or on Facebook.”
Tamara’s decision to only buy secondhand developed gradually and started from a financial need when she lived in London back in the 1990s.
