NABI

If giving travellers an immersive experience is the USP of homestays, then the ones in the Nabi Village of Pithoragarh District in Uttarakhand are creating a niche for themselves - the unique culture of this remote place, with spiritual treks and adventurous activities as add-ons, giving the visitors much more than what they had bargained for.

The 'Homestay Village'

There are umpteen twists and turns on the narrow road which one takes from Dharchula to reach Nabi, the five-hour journey is neither for the faint hearted, nor for those who suffer from altitude sickness. The tortuous route, combining steep climbs with precipitous falls, can make anyone go dizzy, except for the locals who know the topography of the area like the back of their yard.

Strategic Location

The beautiful hamlet of Nabi is very close to China border. Visitors, therefore, must possess 'Inner Line Permit' (ILP) to visit this place. The ILP carries details of the people as well as the duration of their stay.

Besides the spiritual vibes which the region emanates, being enroute to Kailash Mansarovar, the presence of Border Road Organisation (BRO), the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) automatically makes one embrace patriotic feelings.
