1 Draw a circle around the side plate at the lower end of your piece Mark the centre of the circle by drawing a cross.
From the outer left edge, draw a straight line 20.5cm upwards, and from the opposite side draw a line upwards, measuring around 10cm.
2 Join the longer line to the top centre of 2 the circle to make a large triangle, then join the shorter line to the circle to make a smaller triangle. You should be able to see the chicken starting to take shape now.
3 Take a marker pen and draw around the outline of the chicken, rounding off the corners and creating a nice curve for the back. Draw a semicircle where the wings will be going. Add the beak and draw a straight line across the bottom to help the chicken stand when finished.
