Lieutenant Tina Guiler's heart sank when the results of a biopsy in 2018 confirmed she had breast cancer. Having served in the Miami-Dade, Florida, Fire Rescue Department as a firefighter, paramedic and fire inspector for 24 years, Tina regularly faced all kinds of danger. But her mind raced as she listened in shock as her doctor prescribed the treatment a double mastectomy, followed by chemotherapy and radiation. It was all too much, especially coming at the same time Tina's mother was dying of cancer.
