The science of building robots is called robotics. It is a multidisciplinary discipline where technology, engineering, and computer science all come together.
Robotics professionals create machines that work according to pre-programmed instructions. In robotics, you could be either a robotics engineer or a scientist. While the former includes more of design, development and execution, the latter involves more of research.
Robotics engineers conceive, design, build and maintain robots and robotic devices. Their work involves drafting, testing, and applying high-level programming skills to develop innovative automated solutions. The field of robotics presents various job opportunities, some of which are mentioned below.
One of the key areas of focus in automation robotics engineering is industrial automation. This involves the use of robots in a variety of industries, including automotive, electronics, and food and beverage production.
