POWER DRESSING IN PARIS

Models look the business in bold, broad shoulders, big statement bows and slim pencil skirts – notably, not a single pair of trousers – on the Saint Laurent catwalk, in a powerful show that closed a busy week As fashionable front rows go, the Paris shows are always seriously fabulous. And last week’s stylish offerings in the city of light saw A-list supermodels, musicians and actresses mingle with the crème de la crème of French society at a truly spectacular series of shows.
At the Saint Laurent presentation, which marked the end of Paris Fashion Week, supermodels Linda Evangelista, Carla Bruni and Amber Valletta were reunited, while acting icon Catherine Deneuve sat next to Kate Moss, who arrived with her lookalike daughter Lila.
SLEEK SIGNATURES
Models showed Saint Laurent’s wide-shouldered dresses, watched by even more stars, including Oscar-winner Zoe Saldaña, model Hailey Bieber and singer Charli XCX.
“I’m really interested in how spaces are used at shows, and walking in here was gorgeous,” said Charli, who recently swept the board at the Brit Awards.
Over at Chanel, Naomi Campbell led the glamorous arrivals outside the Grand. Palais, looking elegant in a stylish lilac tweed mini dress as she waved to the waiting crowds before sweeping in and taking her seat next to Monaco royal Charlotte Casiraghi.
Inside the venue, which had a gigantic black ribbon spiralling down from the glass ceiling, Fantastic Four actress Jessica Alba was demure in black tweed and a matching bag by the label as she posed for photographers, while Dakota Fanning – who was later seen taking a selfie with Jessica in the front row – rocked a gold cropped trouser suit.
