Widely admired for her determination and hard work, Victoria Beckham was among hundreds of successful women praised last week by the Queen because they “refused to take no for an answer”.
The designer – fresh from her acclaimed show at Paris Fashion Week – made an elegant curtsy when she met Her Majesty at a special reception held at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Women of the World (Wow), which promotes gender equality worldwide.
Actresses Meera Syal, Ruth Jones and Dame Harriet Walter, TV presenter Penny Lancaster, composer Errollyn Wallen and make-up guru Charlotte Tilbury were also guests at the event, held in the White Drawing Room.
