Defence Ambassadors

Volunteers at the Singapore Armed Forces Veterans League (SAFVL) take pride in helping to provide education on the national defence of Singapore, says Major (RET) Abdul Samad, a member of the commitment to defence sub-committee.

One such activity for SAFVL volunteers is their involvement in MINDEF’s Commitment to Defence Ambassadors Programme. The programme aims to strengthen Singapore’s National Education efforts by tapping on suitable SAFVL members (and Operationally Ready National Servicemen) as volunteers to engage and inspire the younger generation of Singaporeans, and strengthen community support for defence and security.
