But what about picking a spot where he can dig some new holes? A pet-friendly garden should cater for your dog’s behaviour and habits in its layout, so maybe try these not-so-obvious ideas.
ENCOURAGE DIGGING
That’s right. Try the opposite approach of most dog owners and support this instinctive activity. Digging isn’t always a sign of boredom; it’s also a normal canine exercise – especially for digging breeds like Dachshunds and Terriers. Create a special area for this pastime, the same way you’d build a sandbox for your children.
