Finding the perfect home for one of our dogs has never been an easy task. Our adoption procedure is extensive but absolutely necessary to ensure that our fur kids go from Dogtown to their forever homes. It’s our responsibility to make sure we not only find our dogs homes but that we find them the right, forever homes!
At Dogtown, we have an extensive adoption procedure which includes visits to the centre to meet the dogs, a matching interview with the family and our adoption coordinator to make sure the dog they want to adopt is suitable for their lifestyle, and, of course, home visits to ensure the home is secure and suitable for the individual dog. Further to that, we also have meet-and-greets where the prospective families bring their dogs to Dogtown, where our trainers and behaviourists introduce the dogs to make sure they get along. And finally, once all is done and approved, a member of our team takes the lucky fur kid home to their new family to help settle them in. At least, that’s how it used to be before lockdown turned our concept of “normal” upside down.
