A British-bred gelding secures a double while one rider juggles dressage with two other disciplines within four days
AILSA GILCHRIST led the novice and elementary silver classes with Westpoint Rasaldo.
The nine-year-old gelding (Parsons Rasputin x Fulton) has relatively low mileage for his age.
“He was only backed as a six year-old after I purchased him and then he was off for a year after he put his foot through a gate and ripped his leg open,” said Ailsa.
“He’s been lightly competed and has only done four elementary tests before today. He’s quite sensitive and can be a worrier at home; he’s usually more focused on me at competitions although he was a little tense compared to usual due to the high winds.”
With strong gusts over the weekend riders reported this distracted the horses, however the organisers were praised for making the riders feel welcome.
