WITH THE CLOSED season upon us, it’s time to check rods and lines for signs of wear and tear. They take more of a bashing during a hard season than you might think.

It’s worth inspecting the rod rings. Look along the individual sections and you’ll quickly identify a ring that’s out of alignment. This is easily corrected by applying gentle pressure on the ring in the appropriate direction.
