When Leornado Da Vinci declared ‘simplicity is the ultimate sophistication’, he probably was not taken seriously back in the day, just like a number of other visionaries. But today, when we look at the world of opulence and there rarely comes a chance to witness true minimalism, it feels like a breath of fresh air—calming to the eyes and soothing to the soul! This recently completed residence design epitomizes this very concept and celebrates the beauty of ‘less is more’.
Situated at Palm Springs, the residence was designed around the client’s brief that stated two major objectives. Owing to its purpose as a retirement home, the chic patrons were convinced of wanting a house that did not amplify any boisterous affluence, but was rather a space that was warm and imbibed a sense of familial intimacy. Additionally, they also wanted an uncluttered setup that was easy to maintain. The brief inspired Architect Archana Van Gils to employ the design styles of minimalism and rusticity as the muse, thus giving rise to the name, ‘The Muse’—a residence that inculcates a simple yet dreamy home!
