Their latest release Absolute Loser can really only be described by a feeling and not by a genre.The entire album provides this calm and warm feeling. Almost every moment of the album feels like the start of a wonderful day. Lead singer Eric D. Johnson&rsquo;s vocals help create the overall feel of the album. Whether the song is slow or fast, his vocals are the main focus in each song.Lyrically, the album can be somewhat repetitive, almost relying on the amazing sounds to cover up their mistakes. This is inexcusable and to a degree lazy. In the albums particular track order, Absolute Loser feels wonderful,&nbsp;but after a couple of listen&rsquo;s you may begin to notice that certain songs seem repetitive.Future Bats tends to switch things up with each release but Absolute Loser manages to bring the best of their past efforts together. Following their breakup, it is very fitting that the album is somewhat inspired by the band&#39;s best work. The production on the album is extremely well done, providing crisp and clear content. &ldquo;It Must Be Easy,&rdquo; &ldquo;From a Soon-to-Be Ghost Town&rdquo; and the album&rsquo;s title track &ldquo;Absolute Loser&rdquo; are the album&#39;s standout tracks.Absolute Loser is great album that will be the soundtrack to someone&rsquo;s summer. Hopefully, Fruit Bats can manage to stay together and release more great music.
