Sharing the same core values with the client, DEQA Design Collaborative designs a house that is perfectly shaped for their lifestyle

Shaped For Pleasure
A home is defined not by the walls or columns that hold it up, but by the people living within it. As Winston Churchill famously proclaimed, “We shape our buildings; thereafter, they shape us.” If anyone could lend credence to that statement, it would be the inhabitants of the G House, as the structure, they helped create has not only shaped their lifestyle but also their frame of mind.

Working in the advertising industry, the owners used to be in a relentless state of hurry. They were always out of the house and when they were home, constantly made plans to travel or eat out. Living in the G House, a Bauhaus-inspired abode completed in 2018, reshaped their mindset. “More than any other home we’ve lived in, this makes us want to stay home more. It slows us down— in the best way,” says the wife.
