Statements In Silver

Divya and Pragya Batra have a passion for silver that they’ve harnessed into striking handcrafted jewelry under the Quirksmith label.

Statements In Silver
What is the story behind Quirksmith?

PB: Divya’s love story with silver started in the early years of her career. She was a designer with Amrapali Jaipur for four years after studying accessory design at NIFT, Gandhinagar. I studied Biochemical Engineering & Biotechology at IIT Delhi, before moving to Singapore for a Master’s in Business Studies from INSEAD. I worked as a management and strategy consultant with Bain & Company for eight years!

Back in 2012-14, Divya used to design for a friend who owned a silver jewelry label. When the friend decided in 2014 to pursue her passion for belly dancing instead, I told Divya that I would join her. So, we started Quirksmith Lifestyle LLP in Bangalore. It seemed at that point, the perfect team – one creative, one with experience in business. And to top it, our secret wish was just to work with each other. When young, we had never realized our paths would ever cross professionally. But it looks like God had a better plan!

Divya is Kingpin at Quirksmith, heading design and production. I am the Social Bee, heading marketing, sales & operations, and customer relations.
