PANASONIC UNVEILS 5OMM F/1.8 PRIME FOR L-MOUNT

New lens is the second in a series of four light and affordable optics

Panasonic has announced the Lumix S 50mm F1.8 full-frame L-mount prime, the second in a new series of four light and affordable L-mount prime lenses.

The Lumix S 50mm F1.8 is not Panasonic’s first 50mm prime. There’s also a Lumix S Pro 50mm F1.4, which as launched at the same time as the Lumix S1 and S1R, but that’s a big, heavy and extremely expensive lens. The new Lumix S 50mm F1.8 is two-thirds of a stop slower, but much lighter, and much less expensive.
