Learning from the sea shore...
I from our workout routines, I decided to go for a barefoot walk in the beach where we regularly workout and have some quality time for myself. As I was walking towards the water, I saw the friendly couple setting up their makeshift 'health drink' kiosk aimed at the morning walkers. He was surprised to see me walking instead of running and asked, “Is everything ok sir?” “Oh, it was just an off day”, I said with a smile and moved on thinking about them.
There were more people near the water simply lazing around or playing with the waves. I walked past them and found a quiet place and sat down looking at the waves and towards the horizon. Initially, started observing all those around me, as it is usually one of the favourite pastimes of mine. Immediately my attention was drawn towards a little boy and his father. The boy was trying to catch the small crabs that were playing hide and seek with him.
That sight took me back in time when I used to come here with my daughter when she was just about 6 or 7 years old. She would never go near the water saying it was dirty. Today, as a teenager she is spending time with friends playing in the same water. Perceptions change with age, I guess.
Slowly shifted my gaze towards the sea and soothing waves. Soon the rhythm of the waves became the only companion. Not sure how long I was sitting there… My silence was disturbed by growing noises around me as more people walked in.
