WITH THE COVID-19 restrictions in place, one of the most popular biking festivals in india had to be withheld for a while. Rider Mania has now returned with a bang and was a blast to attend over three days. While entering Goa for Rider Mania every time, you get a different vibe and you notice the streets taken over by Royal enfield motorcycles that have come from far and wide. Considering that the festival was taking place after a gap, the energy levels were even higher and the crowd larger than ever before. Royal enfield kindly handed me a Classic 350 and my photographer received a Scram that we would be using throughout our stay in Goa. Unfortunately, we could not travel to Goa astride motorcycles, so it was nice to get a set of wheels to scope out Goa in style.
As always, the theme of the festival is based around what Royal enfield like to call “Pure Motorcycling” as they offer something for everyone in the fields of music, heritage, art, and much more. Apart from having some good food and listening to the stunning performances on stage, there were some important activities and announcements made at the festival. At the beginning of the day, one of the stalls that were hogging all the attention was the one where the 1:3 scale model of the Classic was showcased. this is a limited-edition collectible that is identical to the real motorcycle and a lot of detailing has gone into the building process. Each one of them is priced at a whopping Rs 67,990 and bookings had opened at the festival for a token amount of Rs 2,000.
