GURKHA
The credible off-roader continues to retain its trademark styling elements but now features a few subtle curves in its bodywork. Under the hood is a BS VI-compliant 2.6-litre, in-line four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that now produces 90 hp, that is five hp more than before. Coil springs handle suspension duties at either end of the SUV while the braking is taken care of by discs at the front and drums at the rear. The Gurkha’s 16-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in 245/70 R16 tubeless radials.
GWM–Haval
CONCEPT H
The Haval Concept H is a plug-in hybrid and was globally unveiled at the Auto Expo. Although GWM have withheld the specifications, we may assume that a mid-size SUV may be on the way for the Indian market. The Concept H’s styling is similar to the existing Haval SUVs and has a number of attention-grabbing elements. The interior is home to numerous touchpads; there is one for the gear selector as well. Safety features on offer include a forward collision alert system and autonomous emergency braking. GWM also announced that they would begin their India operations in 2021.
VISION 2025 CONCEPT
The Haval Vision 2025 Concept hints at the brand’s direction in the future, but we cannot expect this car in production form before 2025. In addition to the interesting design language, the Vision 2025 Concept also tells us where the brand is headed with respect to its connectivity features and battery technology. The Vision 2025 Concept is propelled by a fully electric powertrain but the specifics are yet to be revealed. This concept focuses mostly on in-car connectivity features and also boasts of self-driving tech.
