So when Renault launched a small-car with SUV-like styling, car buyers across India couldn&rsquo;t get enough of the new Kwid: a car that not just slots into the tiniest of parking spots but also fits the budget of over one lakh Indian families.And when the stylish hatchback rolled into the Car India garage, I was hoping to get my hands on the car. What I like about the Kwid is that it&rsquo;s compact yet has a surprisingly spacious cabin. To top that it comes with features never heard of in the price sensitive segment &mdash; such as a touchscreen display, digital instrument cluster and a massive 300-litre boot. Now with a larger one-litre engine option (earlier the Kwid just had a smaller 0.8-litre unit), it also is more spirited to drive. It&rsquo;s an ideal package for the usual city run.Talking about which, I have used the car for a few hundred kilometres so far and have been very impressed by the frugal new 999-cc three-cylinder. Going by the Kwid&rsquo;s inbuilt fuel economy indicator, it has been consistently returning 22 km/l. We&rsquo;ll be putting the car to the usual Car India rigorous test and will report a more accurate fuel economy in our coming reports. So watch this space.
