A one-off Pininfarina Jaguar XK120 SEhas won specialist historic vehiclerestorer Classic Motor Cars (CMC) a second Octane Restoration of The Year award.
The award was presented to the employee-owned trust on Thursday, November 16 and the firm remains the only company to win it twice; it last took home the gong in 2011 in recognition of its work on the infamous Lindner Nöcker Low-drag Lightweight Jaguar E-type. CMC returned the car, judged by many to be beyond repair after a serious accident, to its former glory.
Octane’s judges - among them five-time Le Mans winner Derek Bell, collector and Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and collector, felt that CMC’s 6725-hour restoration of its Pininfarina-bodied Jaguar XK120 SE deserved a second gong.
