It is thought the MF 35 was used as a shunter in Belfast International Airport.
Chris McCullough finds an industrial tractor that once towed aircraft round an international airport and then ended up in a shed
An ageing Massey Ferguson is receiving a new lease of life and a proper makeover. The tractor in question is a Massey Ferguson 35 Industrial, thought to have been manufactured in 1964. It is owned by a tractor enthusiast in Ballycarry, County Antrim, and lay in his shed for around 30 years.
He decided it was time to have it restored as it has quite a colourful history and asked Alan Beggs from Larne to undertake the work.
Originally purchased from Belfast International Airport, where it most likely was used as a form of shunter, the little Massey Ferguson later lay in a shed for three decades before the decision was taken to restore it.
It is powered by a four-cylinder petrol engine and was originally fitted with a power loader. When the tractor was delivered to Alan it certainly was in need of a lot of work to bring it back to showroom condition.

Original Is Best!
Peter Love travelled to Shropshire to take in a very original Massey Ferguson 65 Mk2 that its owner purchased some 15 years ago. Yet it is only now that he has got it out of the shed and taken it to a couple of events. At Tractor World Autumn at Newbury Showground in October, it took 'Best Exhibit in Show' and quite rightly so, writes Peter. We find out the best way to clean up a tractor like this and get the best out of it, at the same time keeping the original look
