From sons of anarchy to straight Outta Compton, this caprice has also been a classic show.

Common Ground

“IT WAS A SURPRISE. ORIGINALLY, I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR WOULD ONLY COME OUT IN THE TRAILER FOR THE MOVIE BUT THEY ALSO ENDED UP USING IT IN THE MOVIE.”

After building lowriders for nearly 30 years, Big Rich has amassed a résumé of builds that have ranged from a Monte Carlo all the way to a few Caprices and Impalas. Yet throughout all those builds, his heart and soul seems to have found common ground with glasshouses and raghouses.

Now, for those of you who aren’t familiar with the term “glasshouse”let’s start by saying this, they’re beasts. The huge behemoth of vehicles adopted their nickname due to their large quarter-panel windows, and on the flipside the “raghouse” was a moniker assigned to the convertible versions, like the one pictured here.

If you took a double take on the car, and it seems sort of familiar, then it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it’s no stranger to the spotlight. The reason this car may look familiar is simply because it’s appeared in numerous music videos, television shows, and if that wasn’t enough to connect the dots, then think along the lines of Sons of Anarchy and a plethora of movies— including the smash hit N.W.A.: Straight Outta Compton.
