Minis, old and new, and a Jaguar, took part in this year’s Italian Job charity rally (27 October to 5 November) to raise money in a fun way for Variety the Children’s Charity and other good causes.
A total of 25 teams travelled through Europe to Italy for the main event of the ‘Job’ which is a five-day rally based in Imola at the Molino Rosso Hotel. It is here that we all met up with organisers Giulia and Freddie St George and their team, aka the ‘Red Hatters’.
After all the cars had been checked by the service crew, the teams were ready for the offat 30-second intervals. Following the road book, teams took in the sights en route to the famous Autodroma Enzo e Dino Ferrari, Imola and the Senna Memorial. While here, ‘Jobbers’ were given the opportunity to drive a few laps of the track. The next four days followed a similar pattern of early mornings and challenges, which pitched the teams against one another in good-natured competition.
