Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution

The reason I bought a Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II is because I was looking for a serious sports car that was a blast to drive. I loved the full on DTM racer look and homologation models are always very special to collectors and enthusiasts alike. I considered the arch enemy to the EVO II, the BMW E30 M3 Sport Evolution, but I am too much of a Mercedes-Benz fan at heart. Also on my list was the Lancia Delta Evolution and a Ford Sierra Cosworth, because both are Motorsport legends too.

I remember seeing the EVO II at the Geneva Motorshow in 1990 and it created such a scandal...people could not believe Mercedes made such a crazy car with such a rear wing! On a funny note, the BMW head of aero said that they would have to rebuild their wind tunnel if the EVO II wing worked...well it did and they did build a new tunnel!
