At a breezy, fun-filled ceremony in Delhi last month, the Indian Car of the Year and Premium Car of The Year by ICOTY for 2020 were announced, in partnership with JK Tyre, which has offered unstinting support to these awards for the last 15 years. The winners of these awards — which are often referred to as the Oscars of India’s automotive awards — signify the highest automotive performance standards, and the manufacturers were honoured in the presence of the who’s who of the Indian automotive sector, both from industry and media. Dr Raghupati Singhania, chairman & managing director, JK Tyre & Industries Limited, presented the awards to the winners, along with Yogendra Pratap, chairman, ICOTY 2020 and editor of Auto Today magazine.
The Hyundai Venue was named the ICOTY for 2020, a well-deserved recognition for a vehicle that has sold in large numbers and is a true all-things-to-all-people car. S.S. Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, ‘It is a moment of great pride for all of us at the Hyundai family. The Venue has become the customers’ first choice in India and has penned a new success story, with over 95,000 bookings to date in India. Winning our 6th ICOTY award symbolises the trust and faith of customers in the Hyundai brand.’
