Ahmedabad is a city of stories, says Anil Mulchandani. If you call yourself a foodie, we are sure this name is right at the top of your list of eminent food critics in the country. Though the family roots are well established in the textile industry, Anil was determined to follow his passion for writing. He started his journey as an independent writer in 1992. Till today, he has published more than 10,000 articles in magazines, newspapers, newsletters, journals and has curated numerous food knowledge events and festivals. He, therefore, became an obvious guide for this feature which saw us travel to vibrant Gujarat in search of the top five iconic eateries that the state’s largest city Ahmedabad has to offer.
And to do that, we had the Renault Triber, the multi-faceted offering from Renault India which claims to have space for everything. Space was indeed an important factor in this trip as we needed a vehicle that could comfortably accommodate myself, Anil, and the whole filming and shooting crew along with their long list of equipment. The Triber also proved to be a practical offering for this trip as it has smart storage options for knick-knacks. Also, the vehicle could not be too big as the idea was to travel in the densely populated areas and narrow lanes in Ahmedabad where driving and parking is often an issue. Not for the Renault Triber though, as it easily slipped through these lanes with its light steering and AMT coming to the rescue. For spirited driving, you also have the option of slipping into the manual mode while the Traffic Assist function makes sure you aren’t the one frowning in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
