The Blue Shed was started by Mossel Bay businessman Albert Wiffen.
The original use of the building is not known for sure but it is suspected it was a garage. A farmer from Groot Brak said that him and his friends used to play in the Main Road in front of the building and he remembers that the premises used to be a service workshop for horse carts. This information gives an indication with regards to how far back in history the building dates. All the vintage cars and every unique and interesting artefact inside belong to Albert.
They have 2 roasting machines on the premises that allows them to roast their own coffee beans. The bigger one can roast 15kg of beans in 30 mins. Albert keeps changing the interior and exterior to keep things interesting. There is a Green Shed in Wilderness which will be featured in a later edition of the magazine. In summation, the Blue Shed is a landmark in Mossel Bay that serves the most amazing coffee and has a view to die for. What more could anyone ask for.
