Held in Bowling Green at the fabled Beech Bend Raceway, it just doesn’t get any better.

2ND Annual Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals

This past summer was the second year for the Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals, hosted by the American Tri-Five Association in Bowling Green, Kentucky, at the fabled Beech Bend Raceway. To say it was a hit is surely an understatement, with a record number of entries at 2,214. And that’s for only '55, '56, or '57 Chevys. Whether it be car, truck, or Corvette, this was the place to be on this weekend. (Oh, it will be back for a third year at the same time, the second weekend in August in 2017.)

The drag racing started early and fast come Friday morning and would continue throughout the weekend. In fact, what was kind of fun was the nighttime drag racing on Sunday while fireworks were going off overhead … now that was cool! There was more than drag racing.

There was the swap meet, lots of goodies to be had there. There was manufacturer row, which enjoyed a sizeable increase from last year with 50-plus vendors showing of fall sorts of goodies that any Tri-Five would enjoy. Didn’t matter if it was for a current or future project, or maybe some retrofitting needing to be done, there was plenty to see.
