Niedrig Unten Transporters

The tentacles of influence of The Lowdown Transporter group have long since reached across the channel. Atleast one part of Germany is now under their spell

Niedrig Unten Transporters
Low buses are not a purely British phenomena, there is a big scene all over northern Europe and beyond. Having European buses in the magazine isn’t new either. If my memory serves me correctly, the first, an Autobahn Basher with a five-pot Audi engine built by MTM, appeared as far back as issue five. Having a European Lowdown Transporter’s bus has happened before too, remember Rumanian Rus Horatiu’s slammed T4 from issue 77? So, what makes Dennis Lüdecke’s Transporter so special? Simple really, it’s just so damn cool!

Dennis, 27, is one of the people behind Loworks, an edgy online clothing company based, unsurprisingly, in Germany. He bought the van back in 2016 from a dealer, with a plan to build his own camper. The condition was perfect for Dennis’s needs, with only 60,000kms on the clock, that’s just over 37,000 miles… The previous owner had done nothing to the van, it was a straight, unmolested example. In detail a 2009, panel van with the 1.9 diesel engine, with 105bhp on tap in Grauweiss. A friend told him of a van for sale in Berlin, it was a fair stretch from his Winsun base, just outside Hamburg in the north, but he made the journey with his dad and bought the van. He loved what he saw, but knew he had a whole load of work ahead of him.
