There are body movements at speed, and try turning it in to corners with gusto and the body roll curbs your enthusiasm. The cabin, however, is spacious and front and middle seat passengers get enough room. The third row, however, is better suited to kids, and you don&#39;t get enough boot space if the seats are occupied.What to look out for? Even though the XUV500 is a huge leap for Mahindra, it still falls short when compared to its rivals in terms of quality, refinement and functionality. The plastics and buttons inside the cabin are poorly built, while the switches for the power windows and certain infotainment functions fall apart quite quickly. Also, make sure you check the brake pads. After complaints from customers, Mahindra had completely re-engineered the brake system to improve feedback. If the car in question has covered more than 30,000km, get the brake pads&nbsp;changed. A new set costs Rs 5,000. Being an SUV, owners are quite liberal with driving the XUV500 through potholes and bumps. So take a look at the suspension too. Used examples that have clocked over 50,000km are expected to have a worn-out suspension which will need to be refurbished, and that will cost you Rs 30,000 to 40,000. Lastly, check for a heavy&nbsp;clutch. The jerky nature of the XUV500 leads to users &#39;riding&#39; the clutch for long, which wears it out soon. A new clutch assembly will set you back by Rs 15,000. However, there were improvements made to the XUV500 produced after 2013, like improved oil seals that ensured a smoother operation, and also, the brake booster and ABS were recalibrated.Living with it As an everyday car, the XUV500 is relaxed and comfortable. The expansive feature list on the top-end variant makes living with it even easier. Also, regular maintenance is fairly inexpensive, costing just Rs 5,000-7,000 every 10,000km. A major service is due at 40,000km and that costs Rs 12,000.
