Petrol power and a 90bhp boost for our favourite compact Land Rover

DIESEL CARS HAVE been in the news for all the wrong reasons in the recent past. Be it for emission norms worldwide or the Government banning (recently li ed by the Supreme Court) the sale of diesel cars above 2000cc in the NCR. This has forced many manufacturers to introduce petrol variants of vehicles that were otherwise popular with diesel motors. Land Rover is the latest carmaker to join this ongoing transition, which brings us to the recently launched Discovery Sport petrol.

On the inside, things are pretty much the same as its diesel brothers, the Disco Sport gets a decent amount of kit, including an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, sat-nav, leather, power front seats, keyless entry/start and smart 17-inch alloy wheels along with a fixed glass roof and a host of safety features. Neither the switchgear nor the touchscreen system have any major usability nags.
